Esther Poster

Our Meshugge ('Crazy') vintage posters. This is of Esther who we can thank (or not) for the holiday of Purim. The story is that in Persia, the king was tricked by his son to order the killing of all the jews. Upon learning of it, Queen Esther forces herself into the palace, seduces the king over dinner only to reveal that she is Jewish (Esther was a giveaway) and that the king should spare her people. He obliged smitten by her charms. She is a symbol of preserving Jewish identity and survival in foreign lands. She later retired to Boca.
